Much Love for Lana at Art and Soul Photography

Along with our site being updated, you may have noticed that our pictures have been updated as well. We were lucky to snag our friend, Lana Ekland at Art and Soul Photography to take the job.PollyRachel_20140619_0053 I’ve actually have known Lana for over five years now because once upon a time, she photographed my wedding! In addition to taking pictures of Rachel and me for the blog, she went above and beyond and shot some photos with our families, as well.PollyRachel_20140619_0037

I hope words can articulate how much I loved the photos she captured. Not only did she make us feel comfortable being photographed, but she had an immediate connection with our kids which brought out great smiles and expressions. She was able to capture their personalities in the small time that she photographed them and seemed to have an eye for setting us up for great shots.

Lana has a gentle, yet, confident demeanor that puts you at ease but at the same time gives you some direction (which most of us need when posing for photos). She was also talented at capturing not-so-posed shots like the one below. I’m pretty sure right before this picture I had accidentally hit Rachel in the face. Somehow Lana got a great shot out of that!

Anyway, we love sharing about people and businesses we love and wanted to give Lana some facetime on Thriving Home.

Lastly, if you are a local in Mid-Missourian you should know about Lana’s Mommy Camera Classes. How fun would going to these be?! In my opinion, investing in your photography skills is worth every penny and is a skill that will be used for a lifetime. I’m pretty sure I’m going to ask for these for my birthday present. Who’s with me?!
