up & up Products for Babies (+100 Target Gift Card Giveaway!)

Up&Up diapers and wipes
Every mother has their fair share of poop stories (what a fun way to start a blog post, huh?). But seriously, you get moms talking on this topic and the horror stories of blowouts, horribly timed leaky diapers, being found altogether diaperless in a public place, bathtub floaters, and other unmentionables come flowing out. No pun intended. I’m tempted to share my story that my husband and I call “Poopocalypse” but I’ve already shared one too many poo stores in the past month (see this post if you are interested in that one). I find you a little strange if you clicked on that. ANYWAY… I recently had the opportunity to try out Target’s up & up line of diapers and wipes.
New Target up & up Diaper Image

Here are some factoids about them: Diapers

  • New cotton-enhanced dryness layer provides quicker absorption & is softer on the baby’s skin
  • Newborn through size 2 diapers include a wetness indicator
  • Comfort features include cotton enhanced core and soft hypoallergenic liners
  • Soft Stretch waist and sides make for a perfect fit

My review: I must admit, if someone were to have put these in my nursery from day one, I probably would have been faithfully using them. I am highly motivated by saving a buck. They worked great. I particularly liked how secure they fastened in the front AND the stretch waist. stretch waist

Wipes Factoids:

  • up & up wipes are made with botanic fibers blended with cotton creating an absorbent, ultra-soft and durable wipe
  • Botanic fibers are made from 100% plant-based materials derived from trees grown in sustainably managed forests
  • Wipes are gentle enough to use on baby’s face and hands (alcohol free)
  • Available in Sensitive, Unscented, and Scented variants
  • Individually packaged with flip top lids for ease of use.

My review: Coming fresh off a day full of dirty (and I MEAN dirty) diapers, I can confidently say that these bad boys did the trick. In my opinion, a good wipe is thick and has a little “grip” to it. I won’t go into detail why that is needed… up & up wipes fit the bill for both of my wipe qualifications. I sound snoody saying that but a mom has got to be snoody when it comes to the wipes she uses. A cheapo brand will not cut it. Anyway, I’m happy that I got to try out the up & up brand and honestly can say I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Now the part you’ve been waiting for… A GIVEAWAY! Oh, how we love to give our faithful readers, friends and family (hi mom) fun things like $100 Target GiftCards. Want one? Yes, I bet you do. I want one. Can I enter my own giveaway? Probably not.

    • Polly says

  10. Lauren says

I don’t know if this counts as funny, but the least pleasant place I’ve had to change a diaper is in an airplane bathroom. That would also be the worst place to be found diaperless, talk about helpless!

    • Polly says

This happened to me too! In fact I was so lucky that I packed an extra outfit last minute because we needed it. I just had to throw his dirty clothes away because everyone on the airplane would have hated me if I tried to keep them in my carry on.

  11. Tracey says

worst place to be without a diaper was at a baseball game game when its super hot and humid out!

  27. Holli says

On my lap anywhere was always interesting.

  28. Julie Wood says

The worst place to be found diaperless is at church!! This has happened to me. I was at church without diapers. I forgot my bag!

  29. sarah says

I play soccer in a women’s league and my kids play on the side with other moms’ kiddos. My two year old son yells at me during the game, “Mama, I pooooooped.” So I had to run off the field, in the middle of the game, and change his diaper on the sidelines.

  30. Elle says

I’ve had the chance my son’s diaper in the car many times.

  31. Amanda says

In a public bathroom with no changing table! The worst!

    • Polly says

Ugh- I’ve totally done that! I remember apologizing to my baby about it but he didn’t seem to mind.

  32. Lauren says

Although it’s been a few years since I’ve changed a diaper, the worst place was sitting on the toilet, in an airplane, during turbulence. Scaring for more than one reason!

  33. Pierce says

In a shopping cart at Target:). I was at the back of the store and didn’t want to walk front to the bathrooms

  34. Jessica says

  43. Jessie C. says

The worst place to be found diaperless is on the airplane.

  44. Jessie C. says

  45. Sarah Hall says

The worst place to run out of diapers would be on a long road trip with no stores for miles.

  46. ANGEL JACKLYN says

  47. Sharri Greene says

Rest stop, blow out diaper, all over the car seat and onesie…onesie was cut off and thrown out…all other details excluded…

  48. Susan Smith says

The worst place to be diaperless would be on an airplane.

  49. I’ve changed a diaper on the airplane before, right in the seat because there was some turbulence and we weren’t able to get to the bathroom.

  50. I’ve had to change a diaper on the airplane a few times. Those bathrooms are hard enough to use yourself, but pretty ridiculous to change a diaper in!

    • Polly says

I’m sure the passengers appreciated the smell. Haha!

  51. Tasha Marsh says

As a mama of 7, I have had my fair share of diaper changes over the years. The worst place that I have changed my baby is on the bed in the wee hours of the night! What could have just been a simple change turned into a full blown change of bedding! GRRR! I could have been sleeping a lot sooner if I had just used the changing table!

    • Polly says

I get grumpy when things mess with my sleep too!

  52. Carla says

I’m not sure what’s the worst place… public bathrooms with no changing table make me angry and gross me out… airplanes are uncomfortable and annoying… and while I would always choose to do it in our van over a public restroom with no changing table, there’s just not an easy way to do it when the van is filled to the brim for the trip and the kid is at the won’t lie still stage. Fun times all around! Lots of memories!

  53. melanie says

    In the car!

  54. Lauren E. says

The worst was a bathroom I entered that had no table or changing station. Like seriously?!

Nowhere too obscure, in the backseat of my car.

  56. maria cantu says

Worst place for me would be at church.

  57. Melissa Moore says

    At the park.

  58. Janice Cooper says

I would say at church during services would be the worst place to be diaperless

  59. Emily says

I had a diaper but forgot an outfit change at a restaurant once. So after a blowout the baby wore a makeshift outfit of draped sweater + wrapped blanket. Luckily we bumped into an old boss I hadn’t seen in years

  60. D SCHMIDT says

The funniest place was probably in a cavern, it was so odd to have my Husband standing there with a flash light

  61. Deborah Anderson says

In a public restroom that did not have a changing station! No counter space, no way to juggle baby in my lap in the stall. I ended up filling a sink with paper toweling for cushion and doing what was necessary regardless of the frowns I got. 🙂

  62. Tina M says

    in the car.

  63. sherri crawford says

dont really realize the back seat is angled til you change a diaper there

  64. Cynthia C says

I had to change a very VERY messy diaper in the back seat of the car. It was not fun trying to keep the upholstery clean while trying to clean up a squirming baby.

  65. Kerry says

The back room pew in church.

  66. Gina M says

I have had to change several diapers in the trunk, or back seat of my car! Sometimes there just isn’t a bathroom available!

Thanks for the chance to win!

  69. e michelle says

  70. Ashley Tucker says

The worst place to be diaperless would be on an airplane.

  71. Barbara Montag says

  73. Betty C says

A plane is the worst place to be diaperless or to have to change a diaper.

  74. Laura J says

Oh man…the worst place for us…was when we were on the Ferris Wheel…and it got stopped!!! We thankfully were not too far off the ground…but high enough we could not get off. Took about an hour to get off….and we had to change the diaper….so the operator got a diaper and wipes out of our bag and threw them up to us!!! Cant say I have been on a Ferris Wheel ever since! LOL

  75. rachel says

In my car in a parking lot in some random town while on a road trip. The restaurant we stopped at didn’t have a changing table….bleh!!

  76. Denise L says

My kids are 17 years apart. When taking my daughter to college orientation, I had to change my son’s diaper multiple times…on the floor of the school bathrooms. Alas, there are no changing stations in college. On the plus side, the admissions staff absolutely fell in love with my boy 🙂

  77. Neiddy says

Changing a baby’s diaper in the front seat of a car is pretty uncomfortable, specially if your little one is like mine and doesn’t like to stay still

    • Polly says

That would be quite a challenge!

  78. Neiddy says

    tweeted -https://twitter.com/neiddy_ruiz/status/535540848599912448

  79. I don’t have kids and have never changed a diaper in my life! LOL I would think that anywhere in public would be a bad place to not have a diaper, because then everyone around you is forced to smell your stinky kid! LOL

  80. Christy Ann says

Does the car count as weird? Or grassy areas? Or a restaurant booth? Lol Where there’s a safe surface, I’ve changed a diaper there!

    • Polly says

I’m with you on that! My kid’s tush has been seen all over town.

  81. Amanda Sakovitz says

in a store at the mall in their bathroom

  82. Annette says

The worst place to be found diaperless is at a wedding.

  83. Ellie Wright says

I had to change a horrible messy diaper at a Cowboys game once.

    • Polly says

      Oh, that’s funny!

  84. Thomas Murphy says

The worst place to be found diaperless would be a airplane.

  85. Tara says

I had to change a diaper in the backseat of my car.

  86. Sarah L says

No kids and haven’t had to change a diaper in 20 years. Anywhere is a bad place to be diaperless.
    Thanks for the contest.
