- 2 cups water
- 2/3 cup oatmeal (not quick oats)
- 1 pear, organic if possible, peeled, cored and cubed
- 1 apple, organic if possible, peeled, cored and cubed
- 1/3 cup dried cherries, chopped (I left this out and it was fine)
- 1/4 cup golden raisins, chopped
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Make oatmeal according to directions. Add in apple and pear with 1-2 minutes left of cooking.
- Add in remaining ingredients and stir well.
