My little man turned three a few weeks ago.
In light of his deep love for all things trucks-diggers-backhoes-machinery, we had a construction party at our favorite pizza place!
Kids were equipped with hats and glasses (that I got from Oriental Trading Company).
And Tyler was given a special vest since he was the birthday boy! (Which he wore for a total of two minutes…)
To go with the birthday theme, I made a special construction cake. Using these toys, I simply decorated a basic chocolate cake.
To make the “dirt” I removed the icing from about 10 Oreos (which should probably be a crime, btw) and blended up the cookie part.
To add a little fun to the cake, I scooped out a section (before icing it) and filled it in with some “dirt.”
It really was a hit with the birthday boy and other party goers.
A BIG hit.
Just wanted to share the idea for any future boy parties you may have coming down the pipe.
Make sure to pin the idea so you don’t forget it!
Happy Birthday, little man.
This cake is awesome. And so simple. My nephew would love this. He could tell you all the different construction vehicles when he was two. And silly me, I just call them tractors.
