Baked Oatmeal: Updated and Healthier {Freezer Meal}

Baked oatmeal is a crowd favorite!  Enjoy this updated version with less sugar and no vegetable oil.

A while back I posted about a favorite recipe of mine, Baked Oatmeal. I can’t even begin to count the number of times we’ve made this in the past few years. We almost always have the ingredients on hand and it’s not only great for a big group of people, it makes lots of leftovers to use for future mornings (or lunches… or dinners… Yes, we like it that much.)

While I hate to tweak a recipe that we love, I couldn’t help but notice there was quite a lot of sugar and vegetable oil.

I finally found a way to tweak it to make it healthier but that doesn’t affect the taste very much.

    Wondering if I could use old fashioned oats? Would there need to be any tweaking to the other ingredients? Milk, oil or eggs?

      Yep, I use old fashioned oats all the time with no recipe changes.
