Kale Me Maybe Smoothie

“Kale Me Maybe” Smoothie Recipe {Dairy-Free}

The combo of mango, cinnamon, and vanilla almond milk create an interesting Indian-inspired cool treat that totally masks any bitterness from the kale.

Sing with me, everybody (to the tune of “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen), “Now here’s my recipe, so Kale Me Maybe!”.

I am not an impulse spender and am actually quite frugal. But there is one thing I’ve had a hard time passing up over the years–this “Kale Me Maybe” Smoothie at the smoothie bar at my gym. It’s to die for!

But at $6 a pop, I have been wanting to experiment at home to create the same recipe. With the help of my friend, Kelly, I figured out a homemade version that is almost identical. I make this often now! In fact, it’s replaced my husband’s favorite Everyday Smoothie for me (sorry, hubs).

You will love the Indian-inspired ingredients of mango and cinnamon as they blend together with the vanilla almond milk. They completely mask any bitterness from the kale, too. The sliced almonds add some protein to the drink, while the kale, mango, and even the cinnamon add potent antioxidants. It’s a creamy, cool, and healthy treat that’s perfect for any time of day, but especially post-workout.

Oh, and definitely check out these ah-maz-ing Power Breakfast Smoothies for summer, too. They are some of our most popular recipes for good reason.

Alright, on the smoothie recipe you’ll never stop making. I’m thinking this should be called the “Kale Me Definitely” Smoothie. See if you agree.

    My family loves mangos! I use them in a smoothie with spinach. Next I’ll have to try this recipe. The cinnamon and almonds sound really good. What blender do you have? My last kale smoothie basically had to be chewed ha ha. 🙂 I keep wavering between a Blendtec or Vitamix unless there’s a great cheaper option out there.

      Hi Deanna. I am a huge Vitamix fan and used ours everyday for five years until it finally broke (it was refurbished to begin with). I am planning to get another soon. But for now, I have a cheaper one and it does ok with this smoothie. The kale is definitely blended well. Good luck!
