Welcome to day three of our weeklong series: Kitchen Favorites.
Each day we will feature a category of kitchen items that we either use and personally recommend or that come highly reviewed from a trusted source. You can find all of these recommendations in one place on our Kitchen Resources page.

Traditional Skillet: All Clad 12-inch Stainless Steel
All around, high quality skillet that you’ll use daily. Worth every pretty penny.
Cast Iron Skillet: Lodge Classic 12 inch
The right tool to sear, sauté, bake, broil, braise, fry or grill. Use on stove, in the oven, or even over a camp fire. Make sure to buy a heat resistant handle with it.
Dutch Oven: Lodge 6 Qt
This Dutch oven is made of cast iron with chip-resistant porcelain-enamel finish. Broil, braise, bake or roast food in the oven up to 500° F.
Having a larger and smaller sauce pan has proven to come in handy when making a big meal.
Stock Pot: Cuisentart Chef’s Classic 12 Quart
Classic look, professional performance. The Stainless steel cooking surface does not discolor, react with food or alter flavors. Great for classic cooking techniques like slow simmers, rolling boils and reduction of liquids.
Cookware Set: Tramontina 18/10 Stainless Steel 8 piece (or All-Clad Stainless Steel 10 piece)
Colander: RSVP International Endurance Precision Pierced 5-Quart
We recommend getting a metal colander since there is often hot food coming into contact with it.
Carving Board: J.K Adams 20×14
I love having a quality wooden cutting board with trenches that catch any liquids.
