I wanted to share a super easy counting game that is great for toddlers and preschoolers. This number learning game is something you can put together at home and will keep your kiddo busy.
When I was part of a Busy Bag Swap, I came home with this little counting game and didn’t think much of it. However, my 2 year old (at the time) zeroed in on the activity and has played with it for the last two years.
It’s so simple. I almost feel silly sharing it as a post but the fact that it has stood the test of time in our house make it worthy of sharing.
You can gather from the pictures what type of materials you need but I’ll over-communicate anyway.
Using foam paper, make a card for numbers 1-10 with the appropriate amount of circles on it.
Find some type of marker that your kid will like. My daughter really likes the glass beads that you can find at craft stores. You could also use cheerios, buttons, legos or anything else small enough to fit into a small circle.
I’ve found that I need to have enough markers to cover every circle because my lady doesn’t like to remove them from a completed card in order to start a new one. So, that would be 55 markers of some type if you want to go the route of letting them see every card completed at once.
Like I said, this diy preschool learning game is so simple but I know that until I see ideas like these, my mind doesn’t conjure them up when in need of an activity.
Make sure to check out our other learning activities we’ve shared about in the past!
