New Blogger Shoutout: Write Them on My Heart

By Polly Conner

One of our growing passions about blogging as a part-time job is helping new bloggers get a strong start. We’ve learned so much along the way and love to help others take the next step in their blogging careers.

In an effort to give some brand spankin’ new blogs a jump start, we will regularly introduce a few select ones to you. These bloggers are getting their own special feature because they signed up for their site through our Blogging Basics Series.

Today we are excited for you to meet Alyson from Write Them on My Heart. Alyson has put so much thought and time into her blog. It is a delightful place to swing by and visit. You’re sure to leave refreshed and encouraged by her sweet personality that shines through her writing. OK, enough of me sharing. Take it away, Alyson!

Write Them On My Heart

Write Them On My Heart?

What is them?

The quick answer is that it comes from Proverbs 7:1-3: My son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you; keep my commandments and live; keep my teaching as the apple of your eye; bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.

“Them” is God’s teachings. (Oh the grammar. I know.)

So – grammar aside – you may be thinking: That’s nice and all, but what does that look like in real life?

Enter my Write Them On My Heart blog! It is all about the how-to of surrounding our hearts and homes with God’s Word.

But mostly our hearts.

You see, I believe there are ways to actually build a craving for God’s Word – where your heart will desire it more and more. Skeptical? Find it boring? I hear you. In fact, I used to be you. But it can happen. It did happened to me. Not overnight, of course. But, in hindsight, I can now pinpoint some things that led to a still-growing enthusiasm for God’s Word, which you will hear all about on the blog.

You will find the blog posts point to the WOWness (again with the grammar?) you can discover from the Bible. I still to this day cannot get over the cool-factor every time I read a verse that directly speaks to the exact thing going on in my day that very day. (Like reading Proverbs 7:3 when I was trying to come up with a name for my blog.) I LOVE when God does that! It’s my favorite thing.

I will also be curating a list for you of things I read in books, blogs, and Bible studies – but only those that will build our desire for God’s Word. And you won’t want to miss My Fear Project!

And just for fun, I will be sharing my love of hand-lettering for FREE! All my email subscribers receive a free printable every Thursday! These can be used in frames, on your computer, on your phone, on your calendar, on your bathroom mirror, in your car, in your office, for your wedding – you get the idea – everywhere!Free Printable

And I promise I will try to keep the grammar correct in all your Printables!

It would make my day to have you join me on this journey! Feel free to get to know more about me and check out my top posts including: Seek First and My Fear Project #1.
