- 1 cup pineapple juice or the juice from a 20-ounce can of pineapple chunks
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons salted butter
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Bring pineapple juice, honey, Dijon, and butter to a boil in small saucepan over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 5 minutes.
In a small bowl, stir together the cornstarch and 1 tablespoon water until smooth. Add that mixture to the sauce and whisk until thickened, another 1 minute.
Transfer to a gravy boat or serving dish. Serve with ham, pork chops, pork tenderloin, or chicken.
- You can make pineapple sauce up to 3 days in advance. Warm over low heat in a pot on the stovetop or in the microwave.
- I don't suggest basting your ham with this sauce while it cooks. In my tests, it just slid off the ham and didn't provide much flavor at all.
