Healthy Chocolate Covered Pretzels

This healthier twist on the typical Dark Chocolate Covered Pretzel has no shortage of flavor. Since the melted dark chocolate is mixed together with the peanut butter before dipping, that chocolate coating has twice the flavor!

Yield: 5 servings (10 pretzels per serving)
Prep Time:10 minutes
Total Time:10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup peanut butter (or nut butter combo of your choice)
  • 1 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips (we like Ghiradelli)
  • About 50 mini pretzel twists (look for one with recognizable ingredients)

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter and dark chocolate.
  2. Microwave in 20-second increments until the mixture if melted. Stir to combine.
  3. Dip pretzels into the chocolate mixture and let excess drip off. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Place baking sheet in the fridge to allow chocolate to solidify before eating.
  5. Store in air tight container in the fridge.

Notes/Tips

Can this be made on the stove? Yes, a double broiler would work to melt chocolate and peanut butter. It is easy to burn chocolate on the stove, so keep the heat low and remove from heat as soon as the chocolate melts.
