To make your mummies, slice the bottom of a hotdog open to create legs. Now carefully cut each side of the hotdog to make arms.
Slice crescent rolls into thin strips. Wrap your strips imperfectly around the hotdog, making sure the arms stick out and aren't trapped under the dough.
Cook according to the crescent rolls' instructions and serve warm.
Homemade Crescent Rolls: If you want a healthier alternative to store-bought dough, try the crescent roll dough from our Ham and Cheese Crescent Roll recipe. Just keep in mind, that dough recipe will make A LOT so buy a lot of hot dogs!
Healthier Hotdogs: We get uncured hotdogs with no additives from ButcherBox, our favorite meat subscription company.
Storing & Reheating Leftovers: If you have leftover mummy hotdogs, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days. To reheat, you can use a microwave or oven until they are heated through. I like to then put mine in the toaster oven for a few minutes to crisp up the dough a bit.
