Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Before you is one of the easiest recipes on our site. They make a great kid-friendly meal or even a meal for groups of people. One of the best perks of these: You can cook them straight from frozen!

So, if you take a little extra time to double or triple the recipe and freeze them, you can have an easy freezer meal cooked in a matter of minutes.

Ingredients for English Muffin Pizzas

Here is the beauty of this recipe: You can customize these any which way you want! You’ll need these basic ingredients to make them:

English muffin pizza ingredients laid out on a cutting board and labeled.

Ingredient Notes

  • Pizza Sauce – While you can use jarred sauce, we prefer to make our Sugar Free Pizza Sauce.
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese – Here’s why we shred our own cheese.
  • Optional toppings: uncured pepperoni, cooked Italian sausage, green peppers, banana peppers, spinach, mushrooms, etc.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Here is how to make English Muffin Pizzas.

Toast the English Muffuns

Preheat the broiler. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Cut each English muffin in half and lay them out on the baking sheet with the inside facing up. Broil for 2 to 3 minutes, or just until they start to brown.

Can I freeze English Muffin Pizzas?

Yes! English Muffins Pizzas are freezer friendly! This is one of those freezer meals that you might be surprised by.

We especially love them because they can be frozen individually, can be baked straight from frozen, and are a great way to use up leftover ingredients.

To Freeze For Later: Prepare as directed, but do not bake. Flash freeze on the baking sheet until completely frozen, 1 to 2 hours. Place in an airtight freezer container or bag, separating layers with parchment paper.

Prepare From Frozen: In a preheated 375°F oven, bake from frozen for 13 to 15 minutes. No thawing necessary!

Recipe FAQs

Will the English Muffin be soggy?

This is a great question — won’t the pizza sauce make the English muffin mushy? If you simply toast your English muffin before putting the pizza sauce on, it will provide a protective barrier. Because no one wants soggy pizza!!

Can I use something other than English Muffins?

Can these be baked first, then frozen? I don’t have time to bake in the morning. i.e. can they be thawed in the fridge overnight or taken out in the morning?

Yes, you can freeze them fully cooked. Then, I think your best bet would be to thaw overnight in the fridge and then warm in the microwave for a quick warm-up.
