Introducing The Best Everyday Smoothie. Really! This recipe has been tested well over 1,000 times because that’s how much we make it! Includes a delicious, nutritious blend of frozen fruit, milk, juice, Greek yogurt, and spinach. Pair it with our Savory Breakfast Muffins, Egg in a Hole, or Baked Ham and Egg Cups for a balanced start to the day.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Unlike similar recipes like our Very Berry Smoothie or Tropical Smoothie, this recipe serves 4+ people.
- It’s customizable. You can use different types of milk, a variety of fruits, and even sneak in some extra veggies like carrots, kale, avocado, shredded zucchini, cauliflower rice, or raw sweet potato.
- It’s so tasty. This is a recipe all ages will love!
- Well-tested. My husband makes a version of nearly every single day for the past 10 years. I think it’s safe to say it’s been tested well over 1,000 times.
Ingredients
Here are the building blocks to this Everyday Smoothie.
Ingredient Notes:
- Feel free to reduce the amount of juice, based on how sweet you like your smoothie. My husband uses less juice and more milk now days.
- Adding in extra veggies is easy and tasteless. The one my husband adds daily now is a handful of baby carrots.
Substitutions and Variations
- Use different fruit. Raspberries, strawberries, mango, pineapple, or oranges would be great additions.
- Add more vegetables. Toss in extra, mostly-tasteless veggies like carrots, kale, avocado, shredded zucchini, cauliflower rice, or raw sweet potato.
- Add protein powder.
- Add flaxseed or chia seeds. We love sneaking this into recipes. (Chocolate Banana Muffins or Many Overnight Oats Recipes, or Powerball Cookies for example).
How to Make the Everyday Smoothie
Add milk, juice, yogurt, spinach and banana to a high-powered blender. Blend until smooth.
After it’s completely blended, add the remaining frozen fruit (and any additional veggies like carrots).
Blend ingredients until smooth.
Look how pretty it is and all those antioxidants!
What Kind of Blender Should I Use?
Not all of them are created equal. I’ve owned a lot of brands over the years–Frigidaire, Cuisinart, Ninja, Vitamix, and Oster.
To really pulverize the smoothies, you’ll need a high-powered blender. The two blenders that stand out as clear winners from my experience are:
Very high-powered, super simple, and will last for an eon. Polly and I both own Vitamixes and highly recommend them. Very much worth the investment.
2. Nutri Ninja Personal and Countertop Blender
A more affordable option for high-powered blender. The best feature, in my opinion, is that it allows me to make single serving smoothies that get very smooth. Love the single serving blend-and-go design! The big blender doesn’t pulverize as well as the smaller containers do, just so you know.
FAQs
Yes! If you don’t drink all of your smoothie, pour it into an ice cube tray (or something to help portion it out) and freeze. Then pop out the small portions of smoothie to toss in your blender next time you make a smoothie.
Sure! Feel free to add in a sugar-free, unflavored protein powder or collagen powder. I like Vital Protein Collagen Peptides. You may need to add a little more liquid if you include this ingredient.
I think smoothies are even more fun to drink when you have some dishwasher-safe, reusable silicone straws on hand like these (or some paper straws like these) to top off your beverage. So stinkin’ easy to enjoy a healthy, colorful breakfast, right?!
Yes! Freeze blueberries, blackberries, strawberries (sliced or whole), and raspberries the same way — in a single layer on a baking sheet for a few hours. Then you can transfer them to a freezer-safe container and they won’t be all clumped together!

Everyday Smoothie
Seriously delicious and full of fruits and veggies. We have this smoothie almost everyday!

Make It Now:

Notes/Tips
- A high-powered blender works best for this smoothie. We recommend the Vitamix Blender or this Ninja Blender.

- Dairy-Free Version: Use plain almond milk or oat milk and use dairy-free coconut yogurt like Daiya brand.
- Use different fruit. Raspberries, strawberries, mango, pineapple, or oranges would be great additions.
- Add more vegetables. Toss in a little kale, avocado, carrots, or raw sweet potato.
- Add protein powder.

You’re welcome!
👍
I make it on time is delicious
I want to do it as a business thanks
Haven’t tried it yet, but exactly what I was looking for. Can’t wait!
Sweet! Glad we could help. Enjoy!
Like the instructions say for freezing, if you use a mason jar, make sure it is freezeable! I found out not all are. A regular glass mason jar may crack when frozen! Some of mine did.
Yep, good reminder. I’ve tried reusing pickle jars and marinara jars, and there is a high likelihood they will crack. Mason jars are cheap and sturdy.
Yummy
Thanks for the review, Rose!
This is delicious
My husband who makes this every day will be happy to know you enjoyed it. Thanks for the review!
This is now my morning staple during my pregnancy
Love that! Thanks, Melinda.
Finally got around to making this and it’s so yummy! Even my hubby likes it! I changed it from Greek to regular light yogurt and grapefruit juice instead of orange juice (just my preference) and it turned out great! Perfect healthy pregnancy snack for me. 🙂
Wonderful! So glad you enjoyed it. I just posted a new smoothie that is my latest go to one called Kale Me Maybe Smoothie. You might check it out for some variety.
This drink is so wonderful. I love it.
