I got my 11-year-old daughter this customized phone case with our dog on it last year, and she loved it. It was such a fun, personal gift that she was delighted by.

These phone cases are durable, colorful and adorable making them the perfect gift for any pet lover!

Gifts Under $25
Vera Bradley Lunch Bag
This is the “it” lunch bag for tween and teen girls right now. My daughter and her tween friends specifically said tween girls love this kind of lunchbox (and picked this flower version as their favorite).
A big hit with this age!
Cute tumblers are a bit hit with this age. They love the Starbucks brand but you can also find cute ones on Target and Amazon. This was one my 12 year old and her friend agreed was “super cute”.
Clay Beads Set
This year, many of the tween and young teen girls I know spent hours working on making clay bead necklaces and bracelets. They enjoyed personalizing their creations with letters and charms that come in a set like this one.
Game: Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza
A fun, fast-paced, and interactive card game that tweens play just about anywhere. It’s been the favorite around our neighborhood for the last year. The whole family will enjoy this one (although your kids will likely beat you every time).
More Tween Girl-Approved Games:
Fuzzy Throw Blanket
When in doubt, buy your gal a super-fuzzy blanket! This one comes in several colors and sizes and is large enough to completely wrap up in. My daughter and her friends picked out this one.
As a smaller gift or stocking stuffer, tweens like these throwback clips for easy do’s and their great grip.
Color Changing Lightbulb with Remote
My 9-year-old got this for her birthday this year and it’s been a huge hit. The light bulb works anywhere a standard lightbulb does and the user can change the colors with the use of the remote. I bought a few of these to give as birthday gifts as well!
Gel Pens Set
How much fun could your tween have using this giant set of colorful gel pens? Whether it’s writing letters to friends or sketching in one of these journals, she will get her use out of them. I love these blank journals, so she can decorate the front covers.
String Art Kit
This set comes with two foam canvases and patterns, but she can also create her own. A great project to get your tween off the screen and encourage creativity and imagination. This set includes their newest patterns, but here is another kit my daughter liked.
American Girl Baking Cookbook
After several years, this is hands-down still my daughter’s favorite cookbook. She has several in the American Girl series and they are all top-notch, from the photography to the recipes to the layout. As someone who has published two cookbooks, I have high standards and this cookbook definitely meets them!
Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans
What a perfect stocking stuffer for the Harry Potter lovers in your family!
Gold Initials Necklace
This dainty gold necklace can be personalized with her initial. Great stocking stuffer or smaller gift.
Bonus Idea: Put this necklace inside the Explosion Butterfly Gift for a super exciting moment when she unwraps it.
Light Strings for Bedroom
My daughter thinks these are super cool and turns them on every night while reading before bed. This set comes with an ON/OFF switch, getting rid of unplugging to turn the lights off. 200 mini LED bulbs and 66Ft in length, great for decorating, and creating a warm, gentle, ambient glow in the room.
Hooded Plush Fleece Robe
What girl doesn’t love to feel like she’s at a spa? These come in different sizes and colors including holiday patterns!
Here are a few more great book series ideas for Tween girls. I’ve listed them from younger to older age-appropriateness.
- American Girl series – Love the focus on different kinds of girls from different backgrounds, different times in history, and with different interests. The stories are virtue focused with positive messages. So many to choose from, so find out her favorite AG characters and start there.
- Little House series – My daughter pored over these this year.
- Spy School series – My tween sons and tween daughter read and loved this exciting series by Stuart Gibbs. Do check Common Sense Media first. There are some minor cuss words and a flirting/romance theme in these, if I remember.
- Series of Unfortunate Events series – All 3 of my kids (boys and girl) are obsessed with this quirky story.
- Harry Potter series – The best!
- Wingfeather Saga – All 3 of my kids enjoyed these fantasy novels that have a redemptive theme. They are definitely quirky but have a redemptive theme.
- Chronicles of Narnia series – The BEST best!
- Anne of Green Gables series – Read this with your daughter. So fun.
- Wonder series – So well-written, funny, creates empathy for those who look different than us, family-focused, friend-focused.
- Percy Jackson series – My boy and girl tweens tore through these Greek mythology adventures!
My 12 year old daughter requested a trip to Sephora specifically to buy THIS. It’s a light, fruity scent that she LOVES.
Woobles Crochet Kits
Planning to get one of these for my little lady this year. It’s a learn-to-crochet kit for beginners. You pick a kit, get everything you need for the project, and learn by following your kit’s step-by-step video tutorials.
I have this and so does my daughter! It’s a powder highlighter that gives skin an instant glass-like sheen for an easy, natural-looking glow that lasts. She reported that many of her friends have this and use it around their eyes for a little shine.
Charlie Thorne Book Collection
With a strong girl main character and plenty of action and adventure, tween girls will tear through this page-turning series. Well-written, engaging, and clever, my 13-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son are obsessed with these three books (and their author).
My tween is obsessed with this game, but it’s really great for all ages. Instead of using numbers to solve Sudoku puzzles, Colorku uses brightly colored wooden balls. The solid wood game board includes 81 balls in 9 different colors, 104 puzzle cards, a solutions booklet, a color conversion card, and a storage tray. There are 5 levels of difficulty.
Yes, this is a thing. A huge thing for this age. There are so many variations of the plushie overstuffed animal pillow, but our Minecraft-loving tweens chose this Axolotyl as their favorite (if you have a Minecraft player, trust us on this!). I linked to a wide variety of options below, though.
Stanley Water Bottle
This is not just any water bottle. No, no, this is THE most popular water bottle right now in our middle school. Your tween is sure to love it. And, hey, I’m all for getting my kid to drink more water. 🙂 Check out the various designs, colors and sizes.
Oversized Sherpa Wearable Blanket
Don’t ask why. Just know that this is a thing that tween girls love. You can thank us later. 🙂
With so many different levels to choose from, the Lego Friends sets are still super popular with many girls in this age range.
Lululemon Belt Bag
These bags are all over the place with this age! Lots of space inside anything they want to take along.
Echo Dot with Clock
My (Polly’s) kids LOVE their echo dots. They use it for music and audiobooks primarily. The Echo Dots also have games on them that the kids have fun with. What I learned after I bought them is that they can also be used as kind of a walkie talky. From my phone, I can drop into their room, make announcements, block certain songs, set time limits, and turn on the explicit filter. Now truth be told, they still find songs that you may not approve of but all you have to say is, “Alexa, never play that song again.” I love these!
Crossbody Sling Pack
My 13-year-old daughter owns one of these Kavu rope sling bags and uses it all the time! She takes it to sports practices, friends’ houses, church, and on road trips. It’s big enough to pack books, snacks, an iPad, clothes, and such, but still small, manageable, and CUTE. There are SO many fun colors and patterns to choose from in the Kavu line. My daughter and her friends liked this pattern the best (we looked through ALL of them).
Instax Mini Instant Camera
She will have hours of fun taking instant pics with her friends! This updated version comes in loads of bright colors and also includes a selfie mirror. Buy extra film so you can print right away.
Slack Line Kit
A friend of ours had this in his backyard and kids of all ages used and loved it. Set it up and take it down fairly easily. Great for exercise, getting outside, and full family fun.
Fitbit Versa 2
This smartwatch is almost identical to the Apple Watch, with a much more moderate price tag. Great for fitness, alarms, music, and controlling smart devices, it’s also waterproof. Your tween will love the cool factor!
Bonus Idea: Put this watch inside the Explosion Butterfly Gift for a super exciting moment when she unwraps it.
Razor Electric Scooter
I’m pretty sure this is the year we are going to pull the trigger and get one of these for a kiddo. I plan to get this one based on the Amazon reviews. They are all the rage with the tweens in our neighborhood and don’t seem to go too dangerously fast.
