Why Gluten-Free?

I cut out gluten and dairy from my diet for some health reasons about 5 years ago. My kids still tell me how sorry they feel for me. But, here’s the honest truth: I don’t feel sorry for myself!

Surprisingly, eating gluten-free meals has been easier and more delicious than I ever thought. I don’t even have to cook separate meals for my family and myself.

Take a look at this round-up of mouthwatering gluten-free dinner recipes, and you’ll see just how good everyone will be eating without gluten!

30+ Gluten-Free Dinners

Grilled Honey Garlic Chicken Kabobs

This 5-ingredient chicken kabob marinade is sweet, savory, and incredibly easy! With just a few simple pantry ingredients, you can take your kabob game to the next level. Serve with Grilled Corn on the Cob and Grilled Peaches.

Vegetarian Tortilla Soup

This 15-minute pantry staple is a healthy, vegan “one-pot wonder” that I’ve been making and freezing for years for my family. It only gets better the longer it sits in the fridge. Serve with Sweet Potato Corn Bread.

Baked Potato Bar

Want a cheap, tasty dinner that the whole family will love? This classic Baked Potato Bar is it! With lots of hearty toppings, the humble potato gets elevated from side dish to main dish. Serve with Mandarin Orange Spinach Salad.

5-Ingredient Breakfast Casserole with Hash Browns

Who doesn’t love breakfast-for-dinner? This easy, hearty, freezer-friendly casserole makes everyone happy. Serve with our Classic Fruit Salad or one of our 7 smoothie recipes.

Pan-Seared, Oven Finished Steak

Follow these simple steps to make the perfect steak that starts on the stove and finishes in the oven. Or try our Perfect Grilled Steak. Serve with Air Fryer Baked Potatoes.

BBQ Chicken Drumsticks

Kids and adults go for these finger-licking drumsticks every time. You can make them in the oven or try our Crockpot BBQ Drumsticks recipe. Serve with our Gluten Free Hash Brown Casserole.

Slow Cooker Balsamic Shredded Beef

An easy, healthy, dump-and-go, delicious dinner. So simple! Or try our Slow Cooker Shorts Ribs or Instant Pot Short Ribs–same recipe, different cut of meat. Serve over Healthy Mashed Potatoes or polenta.

Slow Cooker Honey Bourbon Chicken

Of all the gluten-free dinner recipes on this list, this one might be my favorite. A little sweet and a little spicy, this easy chicken recipe is BIG on flavor and takes just minutes to throw in the slow cooker. Serve over Instant Pot Brown Rice.

Crispy Carnitas

This versatile gluten-free recipe comes together quickly. You can use the crockpot, Instant Pot, or a Dutch oven to cook the pork roast to perfection. Then quickly broil it at the end for a divine crisp texture. Serve with Picked Red Onions and Instant Pot Cilantro Lime Rice.

Gluten Free Meatballs

These moist, flavor-packed meatballs are a weeknight meal staple in our house. They are done in about 40 minutes and make everyone happy. Serve over gluten-free pasta with Marinara Sauce or on gluten-free ciabatta rolls for Meatball Subs.

Instant Pot Tomato Soup

This healthy and absolutely delicious soup works well to freeze as leftovers in small portions for lunches down the road. Or, serve it tonight along with some grilled cheese sandwiches (gluten-free bread, of course) or with gluten-free croutons on top. Serve with Gourmet Grilled Cheese (use GF bread, of course).

Italian Baked Chicken Thighs

Easiest dinner win ever. A few simple pantry seasonings combine to season this economical cut of chicken. Throw them in the oven and serve with a simple side like Boiled Baby Potatoes and you’re golden.

Baked Nachos: 3 Ways!

Baked Nachos can be customized however you want, is a great recipe for large groups, and come together fast! Here are three options:

  1. Our freezer-friendly Shredded Chicken Nachos are a great starter meal for the Instant Pot.
  2. Or try our Shredded Beef Nachos (and use leftovers for tacos the next night).
  3. Use leftover Taco Meat for traditional Baked Nachos.

Balsamic Chicken

Balsamic Herb Grilled Chicken is moist, tender, and packed with flavor through and through! The flavor combinations of the marinade make this my go-to recipe for warm-weather grilling! Serve over quinoa or brown rice.

Salmon Patties with Lemony Avocado Sauce

These kid-friendly salmon patties are not only some of the healthiest burgers out there, but every bite is a burst of citrusy, fresh deliciousness. They are gluten-free, dairy-free, and make a great freezer meal. Serve with Baby Boiled Potatoes.

Sheet Pan Sausage and Veggies

Dinner is done on one sheet? Yes, please! You’ll love the flavor and color combo in this gluten-free dinner. Leftovers are tasty, too. If you want to amp this up, make our Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce to go along with it.

“Eat More Veggies” Soup

I love this easy, stovetop vegetable soup. Use up whatever you have in the fridge or freezer. Freezer meal instructions included. Serve with gluten-free dinner rolls.

Asian Salmon

A perfect marriage of sweet and savory marinade ingredients, along with the foil-cooking method, takes salmon filets to a whole new level. Broiling at the very end is necessary to create caramelization on top. Serve with Egg Fried Rice.

Grilled Pork Tenderloin

When you grill a pork tenderloin, you get flavor, moistness, and an extra char-crispiness that coats the outside of the tenderloin. This is a no-fail method that you’ll come back to over and over again. Serve with Grilled Vegetables in Foil Packs.

The BEST Stovetop Chili

Want a super flavorful recipe that can feed a crowd, won’t break the bank, or doesn’t take much time? Here’s our go-to! Or, you can try our Pumpkin Chili recipe for a vegetarian take. It’s delicious and nutritious! Serve with Sweet Potato Cornbread.

Gourmet Crockpot Breakfast Casserole

Your fam will oooh and ahhhh over this gourmet Crockpot Breakfast Casserole, whether you serve it for a weekend brunch or a weeknight dinner. Its depth of flavor and beautiful color comes from onions, garlic, kale, roasted red peppers, bacon, and Gruyere and Parmesan cheeses. Serve with Classic Fruit Salad.

Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp and Pineapple Kabobs

Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp and Pineapple Kabobs are every bit as tasty as they sound. The sweetness of grilled fresh pineapple pairs perfectly with the smoky saltiness of the bacon. Serve with our Summer Strawberry Salad with Honey Balsamic Dressing.

Southwest Chicken Tenders

This southwest chicken tenders recipe is sure to please all the eaters in your house. It’s easy, healthy, freezer-friendly, and full of flavor but not spicy. You can bake it or–even better–grill it! Make our homemade Southwest Ranch Dressing for dipping!

With just a few simple seasonings, a few hours in the crockpot, and a few minutes under the broiler, you’ll have a crispy, flavorful texture on the outside and tender, moist chicken on the inside of these drumsticks. Serve over Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes and with Oven Roasted Broccoli.

Taco Bar

I serve some version of this each week because it pleases both the gluten-free and gluten-lover eaters in our home. Just offer corn tortillas instead of flour tortillas and the rest is gluten-free! Serve with our delicious Avocado Salsa and tortilla chips.

I hope you enjoy these delicious gluten-free dinner recipes as much as our family has over the years!

FAQs About Gluten-Free Dinners

What are some easy substitutions to make dinner gluten-free?

The most common ingredients that I substitute are these:

– Coconut aminos in place of soy sauce
– Gluten-free bread crumbs in place of regular bread crumbs.
– Gluten-free pasta (I love Banza brand) in place of wheat pasta
– Corn tortillas in place of flour tortillas
– I make Homemade Taco Seasoning to avoid gluten in the store-bought packets.
– Gluten-free bread from the store in place of wheat bread.
– I often serve rice, potatoes, or quinoa as the starch in our meals.

What are some popular gluten-free dinners for families?

My favorites from the list above are probably the Instant Pot Tomato Soup, Southwest Chicken Tenders, Stovetop Chili, Gluten Free Meatballs, and Chicken and Steak Fajitas.
